Are Hollywood and Bollywood bigger than Bollywood?
The biggest challenge for any film producer is how to make sure his movie gets noticed by audiences.
Problem is, there are many films competing for viewers' time and money. And if you don't stand out from the crowd, you won't have much chance of getting watched.
But what makes a movie successful? What makes an actor or director famous? Or a director? You need to have talent but also luck. The best actors may be the best, but they will not succeed if they are writing bad scripts.
And when it comes to films, there are two main types: big-budget blockbusters and small independent productions. Blockbuster films can cost hundreds and millions of dollars to make and distribute. These blockbuster movies are usually produced by big studios who want their movies to reach as broad an audience as possible. However, these films with big budgets appeal mostly to older viewers.
Independent films can be smaller productions funded by individuals or groups. These films often focus on niche markets and cater to specific tastes. These films are usually easier to market and produce. This doesn't necessarily mean they are cheaper to watch. Most indie films are difficult to find.
Is it possible to have both types of films? Do we need blockbuster movies, or smaller independent films? Well, I think that Hollywood is actually bigger than Bollywood. Hollywood produces more movies than India every year.

How To
How to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce founded the Hollywood Walk of Fame, HWOF (Hollywood Walk of Fame) in 1960. The HWOF is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It consists of 2,711 stars embedded into the sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents an individual who contributed to popular culture, such as television, radio or theater. There are currently 1,922 living persons listed on the HWOF.
To become a member of the HWOF, you must submit your name to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then submits your name to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you have been approved, you will be given a certificate that shows your name and details, including date of birth, place of residence, occupation, and category. You also receive a bronze plaque with your name engraved on it. This plaque is attached to a concrete base located in front of the designated Star.
You can apply for a star if a current member of the HWOF nominated you or if you made significant contributions to movies, television, radio, theatre, music, or something else considered part of "popular culture." A committee evaluates the nominations and decides whether to approve them. If they do so, they send a message to the applicant's address explaining their decision. The second letter is sent to the applicant confirming acceptance of the nomination if the person accepts it. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce charges $25, and then the money is sent to the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angles.
The department issues a check payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce, which sends the check to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays artists or organizations whose applications were accepted. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce receives half of the fee ($12.50). The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs gets the rest.
Once the artist receives his/her star he/she will be eligible to be inducted into the HWOF. To be eligible for the HWOF, the artist must pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce any balance. The amount due will depend on when you were first nominated. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. However, if you had been previously nominated in 1980, you would owe $10,000.
You can remove yourself from HWOF by contacting the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay the rest of your debt. They will remove your name permanently from the HWOF list.
How old does one have to get a star on the HWOF?
Nominations are open to anyone over 18 years of age. A person must be present at the time of receiving a star. After receiving a star, one may still be nominated again after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
Nominating you can be done by family members. If there are no known living relatives, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place the memorial marker in front of it.
Why not use a new street, instead of staring at everyone?
The HWOF is not meant to be a historical monument. It's meant to be a tribute to those who have contributed to film history.
What happened to all the stars stolen? The thieves took approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs between 250-300 lbs, so if you add up all the weight, that comes out to about 4 tons worth of stars!
