FAQ

What is the average number of movies Hollywood makes in a year?

Hollywood studios produce about 3,000 films each year. It's true, there are three thousand!

Hollywood spends billions advertising these films. They spend millions on their production. They also spend millions on marketing them. But how many do you think actually end up getting released into theaters?

It's probably between 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? Well, most are either made as direct-to-video releases, or they just sit there gathering dust in storage vaults.

Some of them may not be seen. Some of them have been selected for distribution via Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, iTunes, Google Play, etc.

We should see more of them. Why aren't they released in theaters? They're too costly to produce.

They'd also be cheaper to produce and released in theaters.

I can help. I will help you find the best possible way to release your film in theaters.

I'll show you how to maximize your return on investment (ROI) and increase your chances of seeing your movie in theaters.

Let's face the facts...

It can be difficult to get your movie into theaters. The process can be complex and lengthy.

It might also cost you a lot before you start.

It is even more difficult to distribute your film within a limited timeframe.

There is not enough time to wait between the completion of a film and its theatrical release.

Is Hollywood more important than Bollywood?

Producing a movie that is well-received by the public is the biggest challenge for film producers.

Problem is, there are many movies competing to people's attention and money. If you don't stand out, your chances of being seen are slim.

But what is the secret to making a movie successful. What makes an actor or director famous? Or a director? You need to have talent but also luck. No matter how talented your actors are, if they have poor scripts, it will be impossible to get the job done.

Two main types exist when it comes down to film: large-budget blockbusters or small independent productions. Blockbuster movies are expensive to produce and distribute. These blockbuster movies are usually produced by big studios who want their movies to reach as broad an audience as possible. But big-budget films appeal more to older audiences.

Independent films are smaller-scale productions that may have to be financed individually or by groups of investors. These films tend to target niche markets and are tailored to specific tastes. These films are usually easier to market and produce. But, they aren't necessarily cheaper to view. Many indie films are hard to find.

So, the question is, do we need both kinds of films? Do we need blockbuster movies, or smaller independent films? Hollywood is bigger than Bollywood, according to me. Hollywood produces nearly twice as many movies annually as India.

How To

How to get your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

In 1960, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce created the Hollywood Walk of Fame (HWOF). The HWOF is located in Los Angeles at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It is composed of 2,711 stars embedded into sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents someone who made motion pictures, television or radio, as well as music and other aspects of popular culture. There are currently 1,922 living persons listed on the HWOF.

To become a member of the HWOF, you must submit your name to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then submits your name to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you are approved, you will receive a certificate of eligibility that includes your name, date, residence, occupation, category, and other information. You will also receive a bronze plaque engraved with your name. This plaque is affixed to a concrete base in front of the designated star.

If you were nominated by an HWOF member, or if there are significant contributions made to the entertainment, film, radio, theatre, and music industries, you may be eligible for a "star" award. A committee evaluates all nominations and then decides whether to approve them. If they do, they will send a letter explaining their decision to the applicant at his/her home address. If the person accepts the nomination, he/she receives a second letter confirming acceptance. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce then sends $25 to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The department issues an official check payable to Hollywood Chamber of commerce. This check is then sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the artist or organization whose application was accepted. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs receives the remaining half.

Once an artist has received their star, he/she is eligible to be listed in the HWOF. To be eligible for the HWOF, the artist must pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce any balance. The amount due will vary depending on how long ago you were nominated. You would owe $15,000. If you were first Nominated in 1990, for example. If you were nominated for the first time in 1990, you would owe $15,000.

Contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to get your name removed from the HWOF and to repay any outstanding debts. They will take care of removing your name from the list permanently.

What age is required to become a HWOF star?

You must be at the least 18 year old to be nominated. To receive a Star, one must still be living at the time. After receiving a Star, one can still be Nominated for another star after ten Years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

Your family members can nominate you for a star. If there are no known living relatives, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place the memorial marker in front of it.

Why not use a new street, instead of staring at everyone?

The HWOF doesn't intend to be historical monument. It is meant as a memorial to all who contributed to the history of film.

What happened to the stolen stars? The thieves stole around 1,200 stars. Each star is approximately 250-300 lbs in weight. That's about 4 tons of stars!
